Nearly 3,000 pounds of ground beef, distributed across six U.S. states, have been recalled by the Mountain West Food Group, LLC, according to an announcement published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) on December 27, 2025.

Mountain West Food Group, LLC—based in Heyburn, Idaho—announced the recall of approximately 2,855 pounds of raw ground beef products after routine FSIS testing found a strand of E. coli O26 in a batch of meat that was produced on December 16, 2025. The recalled item is a 16-ounce, vacuum-sealed package labeled “Forward Farms Grass-Fed Ground Beef.
